Online Coaching Clinic - August 1, 2021
On August 1, 2021, Data Academy again held an online coaching clinic together with trade union representatives in PT. Citra Abadi Sejati (PT. CAS) to discuss enhancement of their company's Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) whose period had expired in 2020. PT. CAS compiled several additional articles into the proposed CBA’s draft, including those related to mutation (workers transfer from PT. CAS to another PT. CAS branch/subsidiary). For a long time, workers have objected to this rule, considering that mutation must be interpreted as transferring workers from one position to another.
In addition, the coaching clinic also discussed changes to the article regarding working hours and weekly rest period. PT. CAS proposes detailed working hours and rest periods for workers, as well as the implementation of overtime work. The new added paragraph regulates that overtime work can only be done if it is urgent and must be completed immediately. It also should be based on a written overtime order from the factory manager, as well as the consent of the worker concerned.
PT. CAS showed its enthusiasm in using the Problem Inventory List (DIM) method which is equipped with a mapping of priority issues to find out details based on the priority scale which will be submitted to the draft CBA’s submission which will later be negotiated with management. CAS also realizes that articles drafting in the CBA’s is important, for it to be precise and unambiguous. All forms of regulations that apply to all workers need to be listed in the contents of the CBA’s. This is to anticipate actions against the CBA’s rules.
